Man in Siddharthnagar arrested for murdering teenage daughter

LUCKNOW: Siddharthnagar police on Tuesday arrested a father for the death of his 17-year-old daughter.

The culprit, Prahalad Kumar, admitted to the police in his confessional statement that his daughter Sandhya was seeing a classmate. Because the lad belonged to a different caste, Kumar had opposed to the connection. When she refused, he strangled her to death with his muffler.
Sandhya’s corpse was discovered in Kharagwar village, within the jurisdiction of Shohratgarh police station, on February 10, according to Siddharthnagar Superintendent of Police Prachi Singh. After her mother recognized the corpse, a formal complaint was filed against a boy who was the same age as her daughter.
“The victim’s mother claimed that the rice bales found near her body were laced with sedatives offered by her boyfriend, thereby accusing him of murder,” Singh added. When the victim’s mother was asked by the police where her husband was, according to another senior officer engaged in the inquiry, she replied that he was in Mumbai. Still, her husband’s whereabouts was determined to be in Lucknow. The cops said, “We immediately formed teams and apprehended her husband.”
Prahalad said that he didn’t think Sandhya should be dating her age-appropriate buddy. In his confession, Prahalad said that he was afraid of ruining his name and that social pressure forced him to arrange the murder.
“I asked her not to see that boy again. She declined, stating that she would live her life as she saw fit. This infuriated me, so I took a muffler and throttled her neck. I then set the setting up so that it seemed like Sandhya’s boyfriend had poisoned her. I then ran away to Aishbagh, Lucknow,” he confessed.
According to the police, Prahalad had previously advised Sandhya not to hang out with that youngster. TNN
