Older Man Files Complaint With Lucknow Civic Body After Pet Dog Bite Him

A domestic dog bit a 63-year-old man in Lucknow’s Balaganj neighborhood. Rajendra Kumar Singh, the sufferer, is a resident of Rastogi Nagar and has filed a complaint with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) asking for the pet owner to be held accountable.

On Sunday, Rajendra was about to buy flour from a local mill when he was attacked on the leg by an aggressive domestic dog. Fortunately, since he was wearing jeans, the victim did not sustain serious injuries.

“The dog sprung on me out of nowhere and bit my left leg. Locals responded to my calls and rushed to my aid, but the dog was so vicious that he attempted to attack me once more. But the people were able to drive it away, Rajendra claimed, adding that if assistance hadn’t come quickly, his wounds might have been worse.

The victim’s son, Shubham Singh, said that the dog owner was on the scene but made no effort to assist.

Rajendra, who had a roughly one-inch-long incision on his left leg, was sent to the Balrampur hospital where he received first assistance and the rabies vaccination.

According to Rajendra, the LMC should take action to prevent such instances from happening. “It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that their pets do not attack people,” he said.

Veterinarians, meanwhile, gave many explanations for why dogs attack people.

“These situations often happen when dogs have experienced trauma or have mistaken the victim for a danger. The dog might possibly have certain medical problems, according to Dr. Rajneesh Chandra.

Dr. Abhinav Verma, the LMC’s animal welfare officer, stated, “The situation has come to our attention. If the owner does not have a license for his dogs, we will take action against him.
