On the third anniversary of Lalji Tandon’s passing, CM Adityanath pays tribute to him

On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid homage to former governor and BJP stalwart Lalji Tandon on the third anniversary of his passing and praised his incredible rise from party worker to governor.

In addition, Adityanath praised him for continuing in Lucknow the tradition of the late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.


The experienced politician worked as a party worker, a corporator, a lawmaker, an MLC, a minister in the state government, and a governor of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, according to the chief minister, who was speaking at a ceremony to honor Tandon today in Hazratganj.

“Lalji Tandon showcased his experience and competence, benefiting the states and setting an example for others,” the speaker remarked.

“He had a close relationship with Lucknow, and this city’s residents still hold him in high regard. Adityanath praised the man’s “extraordinary love, respect, and interactions with people of all castes, religions, and beliefs.”

The chief minister added, “Today, he is no longer with us, but on the third anniversary of his passing, I offer my heartfelt homage to his memory on behalf of the state government.”

Other prominent BJP officials as well as deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak and minister of Jal Shakti Swatantra Dev Singh paid respect to Tandon.

From 2009 until 2014, Lalji Tandon, an Indian politician, was a member of Parliament in addition to serving as the 18th and 28th governors of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, respectively. He had a reputation for being close to Vajpayee. On July 21, 2020, he passed away.
