The Ghaziabad Civic Body has increased the registration fee for pets by five times from today, and violators will be fined Rs 10,000

Beginning on April 1, the registration cost for pet dogs in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has risen. According to reports, as of right now, the cost to register a pet with the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has risen five times, from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000. There will also be a 10,000 rupee punishment for breaking the new regulations.

The change will incentivize pet owners to register their animals with the company as soon as possible. According to Dainik Jagran, the city is said to have around 20,000 pet dogs, however, as of the moment, just a thousand of those canines are officially registered with the company. The authorities are now going to punish people for owning canines without following the proper registration procedures.

According to reports, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has outright prohibited the breeding and selling of 23 different dog breeds. According to Dr. Anuj Kumar Singh, the corporation’s Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer, the registration price for dogs has been raised from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,000 under the new policy. The yearly renewal fee has also increased, going from Rs 100 to Rs 500.

Prohibition of These 23 Dog Breeds:

Twenty-three dog breeds—pit bulls, terriers, Rottweilers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Brazilian Mastiffs, Argentine Dogos, American Bulldogs, Boerboels, Kangals, Central Asian Shepherds, South Russian Shepherds, Caucasian Shepherds, Spaniels, Japanese Tosas, Mastiffs, and others—are prohibited, according to the municipal authorities.
