This bank in Ayodhya Offers ‘Spirituality, Inner Peace, Faith’ to Customers Who Meet Special Account Opening Requirements

Here in the realm of Lord Ram, there is a special bank where the 35,000 account holders get nothing but peace of mind, faith, and spirituality—money is not an object! “International Shree Sitaram Bank” is drawing the interest of worshippers and visitors to the recently built Ram temple. These deposits are pamphlets with the word “Sitaram” scrawled over every page.

Established in November 1970 by Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the head of the Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, the spiritual bank boasts over 35,000 account holders both domestically in India and outside in the US, UK, Canada, Nepal, Fiji, the UAE, and other nations.

The bank has amassed 20,000 crore “Sitaram” books from Lord Ram’s followers. The bank’s manager, Punit Ram Das Maharaj, reports that since the great temple’s consecration ceremony last month, the bank has seen a rise in the number of daily visitors.

The bank maintains track of every account and gives out complimentary pamphlets and red pens to followers. Before a passbook is granted and an account is created in the bank, “Sitaram” must be written at least five lakh times.

The bank has 136 branches both domestically and overseas. Puneet Ram Das told PTI, “The account holders also give us the booklets via mail, and we keep the ledger here. According to him, the guests also wonder about the advantages of writing Sitaram down and putting it in a bank.

“I explain to them that just as we travel to temples dedicated to gods and goddesses to find inner peace, virtue, and faith, so too can writing “Sitaram” and putting it in the bank serve as a kind of prayer. We claim that God holds a personal record of all people’s good and negative activities. This is comparable to that.

“Writing, chanting, and remembering Lord Ram’s name brings comfort and profound spiritual enrichment to the devotees,” the speaker said.

According to Puneet Ram Das, one may achieve “Moksha” by writing their name 84 lakh times. After 14 years of frequenting the bank, Jeetu Nagar, a resident of Gaya, Bihar, said that this is the only way he prays.

“I do this instead of going to a temple to pray, and it has always helped me when I’ve been down or having problems. Every year, I write it down and deposit it at the bank. Although sending by mail is a possibility as well, he said, “I would rather visit myself.”

Nagar claimed to have already submitted booklets containing 1.37 crore names. Another account user from Bareily, Uttar Pradesh, Suman Das, claimed to have written “Sitaram” 25 lakh times.

“My neighbor thought I was crazy when I told him about the bank, but I firmly believe in it,” Every time I write, I feel lighter and like my prayers are being heard,” he said.

On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a consecration ceremony at the great temple to dedicate a new idol of Lord Ram. Thousands of people participated in the historic event that took place only months before the Lok Sabha elections by watching the pran pratishtha (consecration) ritual on television in their homes and nearby temples.
