UP: Jhansi Teacher Reprimands Student for Gutka Addiction; Class 11 Student Suicides

In the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi, an adolescent girl is said to have committed suicide after being made fun of by her instructor for ingesting gutka (tobacco) in front of her father.

The 17-year-old, known as Anjali Sahu, committed suicide by hanging herself a few hours after her father was informed that his daughter was hooked to gutka by her teacher when he was summoned to the school. A Times of India story states that the event that happened on Wednesday was reported on Thursday.

According to Amit Sahu, the kid’s father, the school administration had threatened to deny the daughter access to lessons until she broke her tobacco-using habit.

Not long after the father and daughter arrived home, she locked herself in her room. An hour later, the family entered into her room after discovering that her door was locked from the inside. They discovered that she was hanging from a ceiling fan hook.

After lowering her from the hook, they hurried her to a local hospital, where the medical staff pronounced her dead.

Sahu was a student in class 11 in the Kabrai neighborhood of Mahoba’s Badri Singh Kanya Inter College. The girl’s father said, “The teacher had asked her to check her school bag in my presence, and from there several sachets of gutka were found.”

Birendra Pratap, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kabrai, said that the victim’s relatives could not provide any other explanation or scenario that may have prompted her to perform this action. Investigators will look into the situation, Pratap continued.

Pratap said, “We’re going to question the teacher and the kids who were there when the girl got reprimanded.”

In the Bokaro region of Jharkhand, a 40-year-old lady is claimed to have committed suicide two weeks before by setting herself on fire, according to authorities. The incident took place near the Marafari police station in Bansgora.

Superintendent of Police Priyadarshi Alok said, “Preliminary investigation found that she had a land dispute with another person and a money dispute with her mother.”

A class 9 kid at a private school in Haryana’s Hisar district is said to have hung herself early in October as a result of bullying from two classmates.

According to police authorities, the family of the 14-year-old kid said that he had been angry about being tormented by two girls at school on a regular basis and that the issue had also been taken up with a teacher before.

At the City Police Station, a complaint was filed against the two students and the instructor under sections 305 (abetment of suicide committed by child) and 34 (a criminal act done by multiple individuals in furtherance of the same goal of all). According to a different agency, the victim’s mother’s complaint led to the registration of the case.
