UP rivers start to rise after a lot of rain

Following significant rainfall in the hill states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the water levels of the main rivers in Uttar Pradesh have begun to rise.

In the districts of Bulandshahr, Badaun, and Farrukhabad, the Ganga was running over the danger line, as were the Ramganga in Shahjahanpur, the Ghaghra in Barabanki, Ayodhya, and Ballia.

All of the state’s embankments are secure, according to relief commissioner G.S. Naveen Kumar, who said this on Friday.

He said that there are now 346 communities in 17 districts impacted by flooding.

In the last 24 hours, rainfall in the state averaged 1.7 mm, which is 23% below the 7.4 mm average for this time of year.

Since June 1st, Uttar Pradesh has averaged 393.9 mm of rain, or 79.4% of the average annual rainfall of 496.3 mm.

Additionally, the relief commissioner said that Maharajganj district received at least 30 mm of rain on the previous day.

He also noted that two fatalities from drowning and snake bites were recorded in the previous 24 hours.
