Uttar Pradesh: By the end of 2024, five new projects including Jewar’s international airport will be completed

Direct aviation services between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya have been discontinued, according to Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Today’s launch was important for Ayodhya since it strengthened regional connectivity by offering three weekly direct flights from Ahmedabad.

Minister Scindia pointed out that, despite the state’s tremendous expansion in the last nine years, there were only six airports in Uttar Pradesh in 2014. Today, the state has 10 airports in total, including the newly opened Ayodhya airport.

In an effort to improve air connectivity, five more airports in Uttar Pradesh—Azamgarh, Aligarh, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Chitrakoot—are scheduled to open next month.

The most noteworthy statement was that Jewar’s International Airport is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. When this airport opens for business, it should help Uttar Pradesh’s standing on the world aviation map.

At peak times, Maharshi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya can accommodate 600 aircraft passengers within its current 6500 square meter footprint. According to Minister Scindia, there are plans for significant growth, with the terminal expected to expand to 50,000 square meters.

In the next phase, there will be a significant increase in the passenger capacity as well, reaching 3000. Furthermore, the runway—which is now 2200 meters long—is supposed to be extended to 3700 meters. The purpose of these upgrades is to make it easier to fly bigger planes straight from Ayodhya on international routes.

With five new airports and the much-awaited international hub in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh is poised for a major increase in air connectivity.

The aviation industry in Uttar Pradesh has a bright future because to Minister Scindia’s ambitious measures, which promise to improve accessibility and convenience for both locals and tourists.
