Uttar Pradesh: List of 4 BJP candidates released for MLC election, including newcomer Arvind Kumar Sharma

For the biennial election of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, BJP has released a list of the names of its four candidates. In this list, BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Laxman Prasad Acharya and newcomer Arvind Kumar Sharma are included in the party.
Arvind Kumar Sharma is a 1988 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer. Recently Arvind Kumar Sharma has taken voluntary retirement from the post of Secretary, Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Arvind Kumar Sharma is considered very close to Prime Minister Modi.
Legislative council elections are going to be held in Uttar Pradesh on January 28. For this, 12 MLC seats are fixed. The tenure of the elected members on these 12 seats of the Legislative Council is coming to an end on January 30, including the Deputy Chief Minister of the state Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Chairman of the Legislative Council Ramesh Yadav and BJP State President Swatantra Dev Singh.
According to the program released by the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, nominations can be filed till January 18 for the election of these 12 seats of the Legislative Council. Nomination papers will be examined on January 19 and names will be withdrawn by January 21. According to experts, BJP can win 9 or 10 of these seats, depending on the strength of the assembly members.
On Wednesday, the Samajwadi Party announced its two candidates. Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has nominated Ahmed Hassan and Rajendra Chaudhary for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council.
There are currently 402 members in the 403-member assembly of Uttar Pradesh, which includes 310 of the Bharatiya Janata Party, 49 of the Samajwadi Party, 18 of the Bahujan Samaj Party, 9 of the Apna Dal (Sone Lal), 7 of the Indian National Congress, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj The party has 4, Independents 3, Rashtriya Lok Dal's 1, Nirmal Indian Shoshit Hamara Apna Dal (Nishad) has 1 member.
