Yogi Government in UP will introduce the Officer Desk System

The Officer Desk System is about to be introduced by the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh in order to speed up secretariat tasks and guarantee openness in file disposal.

According to authorities here on Wednesday, this technology is designed for quick file management and reducing corrupt behavior.

Government initiatives may be swiftly carried out at the same time, thus benefiting the state’s citizens. It’s significant that the Modi administration has formed 623 desk units across 40 ministries. Depending on the kind of duties associated with the desk, an undersecretary or a senior section officer serves as a desk officer under the Desk Officer System.

To ensure prompt and timely completion of regulatory responsibilities across the different secretariat departments, the Yogi Government is implementing the Desk Officer System inside the secretariat. This system is designed with officers in mind. It intends to eliminate any delays that can happen when papers are sent to higher-ranking officials via departmental divisions of the secretariat.

One desk unit will be established in each of the secretariat departments to help with the quick and timely completion of regulatory work at that level. This was accomplished by soliciting departmental recommendations, which led to 20 secretariat departments accepting the desk officer method, which would shortly be implemented.

The System requires the deployment of a special secretary, joint secretary, PS, and APS in each desk unit at the departmental level within the secretariat. Additionally, the desk will handle a variety of regulatory departmental tasks.

A necessary first step in establishing the Desk Officer System is classifying departmental activities into regular and regulatory duties. This has received backing from several secretarial departments. The Desk Officer System would be put into place in the first phase by creating desk units in 20 secretariat departments.
