A family of eight leaves the restaurant after dining without paying the Rs 34,000 bill

Even while it could appear funny in movies or as a joke among friends, it’s crucial to realize that there are severe dangers involved with really eating and dashing. Eating and dashing is really against the law and is regarded as stealing. People risk legal action, including criminal charges and penalties, if they are discovered.

A police complaint was filed against an eight-member family that made news recently for leaving a restaurant without paying their £329 (about Rs 34,000) bill. The event was made public when Bella Ciao Swansea, a restaurant in the UK, posted a message on their official Facebook page. “To the family who left the restaurant this evening without paying their £329 bill, shame on you!” they said, sharing a screen shot of the CCTV video.

It turned out that a lady in the group tried to pay the bill with a savings card, but sadly, it was turned down twice. Then, telling her son to stay inside the restaurant, she went to get another card out of her vehicle. But the lady never came back, leaving her kid alone. The son eventually got a call and left the restaurant quickly, which led to what is referred to as a “dine and dash” situation.

The restaurant went on to clarify in the lengthy article that they were unaware of the family’s contact information since the reservation was made using a fictitious cellphone number. With nothing else to do, they made a police complaint. The eatery posted on Facebook, saying, “To do this to a newly open restaurant is even worse! To do this to anyone is disgusting.”

The post caught the audience’s attention shortly after it was posted on social media. A number of readers voiced their dismay in the comment area. “The children deserve better parents,” a user said. “All the restaurants should change, pay when you order, I don’t mind paying when ordering,” said another.

“This explains why so many establishments turn away tourists; obviously, not every traveler is like this, but those who behave in this way damage the reputation of the rest,” one remark said.

The eatery further released CCTV video showing the mother attempting to pay her bill at the counter as her kid was seen standing behind her.

“The police are aware of who they are, we just hope they are finally caught and do not do this to any more businesses,” they said, providing an update on the complaint.
