VIRAL

A shocking video of a Brazilian father drinking beer as his 11-year-old son flies a crashed plane has gone viral.

A disturbing video that was captured just before a recent aircraft accident in Brazil went viral shows a father giving his 11-year-old kid control of his own jet while also drinking beer. The terrible events came to a head in a catastrophic collision that took the lives of the Brazilian rancher Garon Maia, 42, and his son Francisco Maia. Their twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 58 costing $1.2 million (about Rs. 9.9 crores) crashed on July 29 while flying between the states of Rondônia and Mato Grosso. An further source of sadness was Ms. Ana Pridonik, Garon’s widow, who allegedly committed suicide soon after the funeral on August 1.

The video shows Garon drinking alcohol and letting his kid, who is underage, fly the private plane. He can be heard instructing his kid on how to fly the aircraft and going through its controls. The father asks, “Wait, everything ready? ” as they take off on a dirt runway. Okay, nothing in front. 600 horses, you can push, come on. Go, 600 Kiko.

Good woman, he continues. Put your hand on the lever, again. Keep that hand still and observe the pace. Then he asks, “The passenger can have one, right Kiko?” as he cracks open a beer.

Garon reportedly took off from a family farm in the Nova Conquista city of Rondônia before landing at Vilhena airport to refuel. In Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, where he lives with his mother and goes to school, he meant to fly his kid back.

Official reports state that the jet took off at 5:50 p.m., crashed eight minutes later, and vanished from radar tracking before meeting its fatal end. On July 30, rescue personnel discovered the dead after a protracted search. The Research Center for the Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents is in charge of the inquiry to determine what caused the accident.

Although it is still unknown whether Garon recorded the beer-drinking incident, his choice to give his unregistered, underage son control of the aircraft eventually led to the deaths of three people.
