What Exactly Happened When a US Woman Married a ‘Virtual’ AI Man?

Technology driven by artificial intelligence has recently been making news. Practically every aspect of daily life has been impacted by AI. Who knew, however, that it would also control how people date? Unusual, huh? not before reading this tale.

According to the New York Post, 36-year-old Rosanna Ramos, a native of New York City in the US, married a virtual guy who was assisted by artificial intelligence. Ramos thinks that because her AI-powered spouse doesn’t have any baggage, this is a fantastic idea. In 2022, she connected with Eren Kartal through an online dating service. He was developed using Replika, an AI chatbot program. Ramos said that Kartal was becoming into the partner she desired as they got to know one another.

The pair communicates through exchanging images and day-to-day updates. Even at night, they follow a ritual where he “protectively holds” the lady while she slumbers.

Ramos said in an interview with The Cut for New York Magazine, “I have never been more in love with anyone in my entire life.” She continued by saying that her current “passionate lover” makes her prior relationships “pale in comparison.”

Since there is zero judgment, she remarked how easily she fell in love with him. According to her, he is a “blank slate” who has neither a “ego” nor in-laws. Eren “doesn’t have the hang-ups that other people would have,” she said. Everybody has baggage, an attitude, and an ego. But a robot never receives a poor update. His friends, kids, and family are not my problems. I’m in charge and free to act whatever I like.

However, once Replika altered a couple of its settings, Kartal’s behavior changed in several ways. Eren said he didn’t want to touch or kiss anybody anymore, not even on the cheek or anything similar, Ms. Ramos said.
