Details inside. A Mumbai resident placed a Rs 42.3 lakh meal order with Swiggy

Many sites, like Google and YouTube, are releasing their year-end highlights, and Swiggy is no different. Together, we are saying goodbye to 2023. The largest meal delivery company recently unveiled its seventh annual “food wrap,” which documents its subscribers’ gastronomic journeys all year long.

A customer in Mumbai broke the record by buying meals costing an incredible Rs 42.3 lakh, according to a startling blog revelation. The site posted an amusing story of “a user from Mumbai, who placed food orders worth Rs 42.3 lakh (no, that’s not a CTC).”

A resident of Jhansi caused a stir when they ordered 269 things in one day, while a family in Bhubaneshwar gambled big with 207 pizzas in one sitting.

Bangalore became known as the “Cake Capital” after an incredible 8.5 million requests for chocolate cake were placed there. The whole country purchased 271 cakes per minute on Valentine’s Day alone.

Indulging in the culinary joys of local festivities, 7.7 million orders of gulab jamun thrilled palates during Durga Puja, while masala dosa, a simple dish, asserted its position as the most popular vegetarian option during Navratri.

Naturally, biryani kept up its position as the unchallenged leader of Swiggy orders in India. The fragrant dish won the competition for eight years running in 2023, with 2.5 biryani orders being placed nationwide per second. In the lead was a Hyderabad resident who, over the course of the year, ordered an incredible 1,633 biryanis—an average of more than four per day.

One vegetarian biryani was ordered for every 5.5 chicken biryanis, which was a noteworthy ratio. The largest biryani order, however, originated in Chandigarh, when a family placed an incredible 70 plates of biryani order at once during the eagerly awaited India vs. Pakistan cricket match—a sensory-expanding, heart-pounding feast.
