Pune Man Uses Iron Rod to Beat Dog; Police File Complaint Placed in
In Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad link road neighborhood, a shopkeeper hit a dog horrifyingly with an iron rod. The distressing event happened on April 18 and is trending on social media right now. Punekar News reports that 34-year-old Link Road resident Hitesh Jaipal Kundnani has filed a complaint at the Pimpri police station against the accused, Gupta, a resident of Pradhikaran. Gupta has a business called Gupta Traders on the Pimpri link road.
According to the police complaint, an attack occurred against a brown and white dog that was a regular visitor to the area in front of Gupta’s business. He allegedly drove the animal out of the store and into the pavement by striking it with an iron rod. Due to serious injuries sustained during the brutal assault, the three-month-old puppy has been brought to an animal hospital in Wakad for treatment.
The beatings caused the dog to lose consciousness and sustain fractures. Hitesh Jaipal Kundnani reported the incident to the Pimpri police after recording it on his phone.
The police have instituted legal proceedings against Gupta in accordance with the relevant sections of the 1960 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The Pimpri police have launched an inquiry into the occurrence in order to safeguard the welfare and safety of the nearby animals as well as to find the perpetrator. Stronger legislation to stop animal mistreatment have been called for as a result of the incident’s widespread outrage.
Social media users voiced their outrage over the event as soon as the video became viral. “Shame on the person who hit the poor puppy,” one commenter said. A second person said, “Shameful act.” Concerned about the dog, a third user added, “Can I please know where the pup was admitted?”
