Swiggy Shares Abundance of Orders Received During India vs. Pakistan Match, From Condoms to Biryani

Indians went all out to celebrate the victory in one of the most anticipated matches, buying everything from condoms to biryani and potato chips. Food delivery startup Swiggy began sharing the unforeseen volume of orders it got with the whole online community.

On October 14, the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan game took place in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will include 48 matches overall, is in its 13th year. India is hosting the competition, which started on October 5 and will end on November 19. India has so far defeated Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan in three games. On October 19, the nation will now face off against Bangladesh.

Swiggy posted some of the most stunning updates on the most popular foods and other things on its social media accounts. The meal delivery app’s X (previously Twitter) feed was overrun by the match updates that were intermittently posted.

An X post said, “Over 1 lac cold drinks ordered today, you guys are really rushing for a drinks break.”

“Today, orders for blue Lay’s and green Lay’s were 10916 and 8504 units, respectively. Of course, blue is triumphant once again, said a subsequent post.

“70 biryanis ordered by a household in Chandigarh in one-go, seems they already know who’s winning,” said a third post.

Another person said, “3509 condoms were ordered, and today some players were playing off the field.”

The following statement stated, “Total number of sweets ordered today = triple the number of people in the stadium right now.”
