The little Hermes bag is being deemed a “waste of money” on the internet

The Kelly purse, created by the upscale French design brand Hermes, is among the most well-known and recognizable purses ever. This purse has undergone several modifications throughout the years, bearing the name of Grace Kelly, the actress and Monegasque princess. The Kellymorphose bag is an exclusive variation of the Kelly bag designed by Pierre Hardy, creative director of Hermes Jewellery, in 2021. The little Kellymorphose purse is adorned with sparkling gems. Its little frame probably fits only one lipstick, but its design enables it to be disassembled into other accessories like rings, necklaces, and bracelets, which is what really sets it apart.

When Radhika Merchant wore this purse with a black saree to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center inauguration in Mumbai, it became well known in India. The retail price of the Kellymorphose bag is about INR 52,00,000. Nevertheless, many individuals are not pleased by the bag despite its great design, particularly given its exorbitant price.

The intricate design of the little purse was recently shown in a video posted by the Prestige Palace Instagram account. After a short while, this video received over a lakh likes, but many others expressed their amusement in the comments section.

An Instagram user commented, “This looks like what i can get from shein,” mocking the bag. A person called it a “waste of money,” while another said the bag “looks like kids dress up bag.” Another individual commented, “I can buy a whole house for that much money!” in response to the little bag’s high price. Fans of Hermès were not thrilled either. The comment “I love hermes but this is too much” was posted on Instagram.

“This Kelly bag elevates its functional components: the side straps and an elemental clasp consisting of a turnlock, a plate, and four studs,” the bag’s inventor Pierre Hardy said to Vogue at the bag’s unveiling. I interpret or deviate from Kelly jewelry’s original lines in a same way. “I like movement, a chain that winds around itself, a ring that splits into two, a key-chain that swings as you walk—I like capturing mobility without ever fixing it in place,” the seasoned French fashion designer remarked, describing the many ways to wear the bag. The body’s motion, which parallels creative momentum, is something I admire.
