This Is What Happens After a Slug Gets Stuck Inside a Venus Flytrap in a Video

The Venus Flytrap is a carnivorous plant that uses its jaw-like leaves to seek its prey, immobilizing it after only 0.1 seconds of contact. Venus flytraps, which are known for consuming insects and other arthropods, attempted to eat a whole slug in a recently popular video. But the slug showed that it was a warrior and that it would not surrender easily.

A nature enthusiast captured the slug’s struggle for survival when it was trapped by the Venus Flytrap on video, and the footage was shared on the social networking site X (previously known as Twitter). Netizens were astounded to see the slug’s tenacity as it escaped the teeth like Venus flytrap leaves. As of right now, the video has received over 20 million views.

A slug can be seen in the video approaching the plant without any idea of the danger that was waiting for him. The two leafy “jaws” of the Venus flytrap were open, just waiting for some unwary insect to cross their path so they could close. The plant’s leaves instantly closed as soon as the slug touched them, attempting to eat the slug. At first, it seemed as if the slug would perish, but it eventually showed incredible resilience to free itself from the prickly plant leaves.

After struggling against the plant’s closing “jaws” for a little while, it begins to push through the tops of the leaves. The slug is unflinching in its attempt to escape the flytrap, slithering its way free. It succeeds in making a complete getaway and exiting the factory. The Nature Is Amazing Twitter feed has the video up. Check out the video.

Internet users were taken aback by the slug’s escape. Some users said that the slug’s slick body structure was the reason it was able to escape the Venus flytrap, while another user claimed he had never seen anything escape from one.
