This retired couple’s road trip from Delhi to Kanyakumari is the epitome of what a relationship should be

A road trip throughout India is something that many travelers want to do. A retired couple is now pursuing their ambition and using social media to share their trip with others. Back in January, the pair set off on a 52-day road adventure from Delhi to Kanyakumari. They rented a campervan with a tiny, improvised kitchenette for the road trip. The majority of the videos that the couple posts show them recording the delicious meals that they prepare while traveling. They share the dinner preparation duties and alternate driving shifts.

One of their Instagram videos gained over 15 lakh likes after going viral recently. The pair can be seen stopping to prepare their lunch along the Aurangabad highway in the footage. Even with their little setup, they manage to cook the filling dish of rice and aloo-vadi curry. The guy continues, “Aaj apni camper van mein lunch mein bana rahe hain aloo vadi chawal, Aurangabad highway par,” as he excitedly describes their plans for lunch. Apni life ko pleasure kar rahe hain, ek imli ke ped ki chhaaon mein. (Today, we are having lunch in our camper van—aalo vadi curry with rice. We are having a great time while parked under an imli tree.”

Several others offered the couple positive remarks in the comments. It is uncommon to see an elderly couple in India prioritizing their interests on a road trip. As a result, this couple offers a special example of how to enjoy life to the fullest even after turning fifty.

“Finally, at some point, parents are living their lives and making unforgettable memories,” said an Instagram user. Someone else commented, saying, “That’s what parents have to do! Savor life, as it’s their first as well.” “Proud of you!,” said actor Kavita Kaushik, who is best known for portraying Chandramukhi Chautala in SAB TV’s comedy F.I.R. Inspiring you both with greater strength and love.”

A lot of individuals said that they looked forward to the pair as role models for their future. An Instagram user posted, “Future me with my wife in my 50s,” expressing a similar feeling. Someone else said, “This is the dream.” “If this isn’t me in 20 years, then I don’t want it,” said another.

The pair, who go by the moniker “Retired Punjabi,” have made their home in a picturesque house near Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand.
