Uncommon “Rainbow Clouds” Fill the Sky Over Scotland, and the video goes viral

Glistening rainbow clouds in the sky provided a beautiful, natural light display for people all throughout Scotland. The vibrant nacreous clouds were seen by a number of individuals around the nation.

Newsweek reports that 29-year-old photographer Joshua Earle photographed the unusual scene close to Nairn Beach on Christmas Eve, just after dawn at approximately nine in the morning.

“These incredible clouds have been appearing across the UK this week,” Mr. Earle commented on his Instagram account, where he posted a video of the encounter. I took this video this morning at around nine in the morning, close to Nairn Beach. I’m still having trouble comprehending what I’m seeing! The natural world is very breathtaking.”

“This strange phenomenon, also called Nacreous, Mother of Pearl, or Polar Stratospheric Clouds, is caused by high arctic clouds that contain tiny ice crystals that refract sunlight,” he said. If you’re in the UK this weekend, it’s worth seeing at dawn and sunset. Perhaps you will see a cloud with a rainbow!”

“It was incredible on that morning,” he told Newsweek. These clouds filled the horizon, their colors more vivid than before. Rainbows shimmering in the clouds.

“This was the first time I’ve seen these clouds but, funnily enough, they have appeared three or four times in the week leading up to the 24th,” said the photographer.

The video has received 272,000 likes and more than 3.8 million views on Instagram since it was released.

One user said, “They’re called Polar Stratospheric Clouds,” in a comment on the video. People who claim to have lived on this planet for a long time and believed they knew everything may now begin reading and learning.”

Not uncommon! wrote a different user. Chemical chemtrails in our atmosphere!”

“My son passed away a few months ago and he’s been painting the sky for your enjoyment ever since,” a third user remarked.
