Watch: Woman Snaps Selfie With Approaching Tsunami Wave, Raising Concerns on the Internet

These days, people would do anything strange to get well-known online. They even sometimes have a tendency to overdo it and jeopardize their lives in their endeavors. We often come across such strange stories, such as individuals attempting to take photographs with wild animals or executing daring acts on a dangerous highway, and we wonder how far people would go to get a few likes and comments.

In a similar spirit, a video that shows a lady snapping a selfie in front of a tsunami wave has gone popular on social media and polarized the internet.

The caption for the video, which was posted on X (previously Twitter), said, “Taking a selfie with a tsunami is wild.” The lady is seen in the video holding a selfie stick while standing in a muddy field. A massive wave rushed up in the adjoining waterbody, sending two more guys who were behind her racing for cover. But before they could get away, the lady swept over by the mud-filled wave. The water spilled all over her as she stumbled and fell to the ground.

The lady was in a dangerous scenario, yet she did not let go of the camera and kept recording the event on her selfie stick. She gripped the gadget fearlessly and even let out a little shriek, as if she was enjoying the risky achievement. It seemed like she would drown since there was water all around her. The other two males looked to be attempting to help her up as the video suddenly stopped. It is yet unknown where or when the event will take place.

Following the video, social media users quickly expressed their opinions. Some thought she did the right thing by not attempting to outrun the waves, while others thought the achievement was quite impressive.

“This lady is just the most astute. She merely savors the moment since she knows she can’t escape it. One person remarked, “And she kept the camera from drowning the entire time.” That is really crazy! “People go crazy these days trying to capture such moments!” another person criticized. “Selfie-taking beside a tsunami? That’s certainly creating a lot of noise,” a third cynical remark erupted.

On the microblogging site, the video has received over 2,79,000 views so far. What do you think about this?
