Why is caviar one of the priciest foods in the world?

In many nations throughout the globe, caviar is regarded as a delicacy and used as a garnish or spread. The silky, sparkling balls, which are about the size of tiny pearls, explode in your mouth as soon as you eat them. Caviar is a term that has historically been used to represent the eggs of wild sturgeon (a kind of fish), which are found in the Caspian Sea and Black Sea. However, it is also used to designate the eggs of other sturgeon species, such as paddlefish, salmon, trout, or carp. In addition to being a delicacy, caviar is also among the most costly foods available. It is a premium dish, and the price depends on the rarity and purity of the fish. In India, you could have to pay between Rs 8,000 and Rs 18,000 for 30 grams of caviar. The Beluga Caviar is one of the most costly varieties of caviar and is quite pricey. Why is this food so pricey? A female fish needs at least 10 to 15 years to begin producing eggs, despite the fact that female sturgeons are produced in vast numbers.

Prior to the development of safe procedures that do not entail killing the female fish, the female fish had to be killed in order to remove the eggs. The fish is rendered unconscious and the eggs are removed from its gut while it is pregnant. Then they are released to begin breeding once again.

Toast and crackers may be served with caviar. One might use fresh cream, sliced onions, and fresh herbs as a garnish to increase the dish’s flavor factor. Boiled eggs pair well with caviar as well. Serving caviar at room temperature is not recommended. It should ideally be cooled before being served in a bowl of ice.

The meal of the poor used to be caviar, did you know that? Russian fisherman formerly consumed caviar as part of their everyday diets. They used to eat cooked potatoes as a regular component of their diet with it.
