“Will never look to gain anti-NATL support”

BEGUSARAI: Union minister Giriraj Singh on Tuesday questioned the opposition party and its INDI Alliance partners to clarify whether they “seek the vote of anti-nationals and pro-Pakistan elements,” taking aim at the Communist Party of India (CPI) for allegedly contacting the election commission to take action against him for his alleged hate speech at a public rally on the day of filing his nomination papers.

Let the public choose whatever coalition or party to support if they believe that doing so would not violate their right to court anti-nationalists and pro-Pakistan activists. Speaking to the local media here, he said, “On my part, I fully stand by what I previously stated, which is that I will never seek support from such elements, even if I repeatedly lose elections.”

The senior BJP leader went on to say that anti-national ideology drove the CPI and other INDI coalition parties, including the Congress.

Speaking at a public gathering on the grounds of GD College on April 19, Singh said that the opposition parties accuse him of focusing only on “mandir-masjid” and “Hindu-Musalman” issues.

“However, the NDA govt never discriminates on the lines of religion, caste or creed as reflected in various welfare schemes,” he had said during the event.
