Bihar: A mysteriously deceased assistant engineer from the Water Resources department

In the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, a 29-year-old assistant engineer with the state Water Resources department was discovered dead in her leased apartment under suspicious circumstances, according to authorities on Sunday.

Mahima Kumari (29), a resident of Mananpur Bazar in the Lakhisarai district, has been identified as the dead.

According to the locals, the victim used to live alone in her apartment in the Atardah Prajapati Nagar neighborhood of Muzaffarpur town. She was employed as an associate engineer for the state water resources department and was stationed there.

Speaking with press Bhanu Pratap Singh, the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP-Town) in Muzaffarpur, said on Sunday that Mahima Kumari’s death was found late on Saturday night in her apartment.

The post-mortem examination of her corpse has been submitted, and an ongoing inquiry is underway.

“We are investigating the case from all angles forensic experts have already collected scientific evidence from the spot and further examining it” , he said.

Under the condition of anonymity, a local police official said, “Mahima was found deceased in her apartment under suspicious circumstances by the neighbors. Her corpse was discovered laying in the bedroom with the apartment’s doors wide open. Additionally, there were wounds on the torso and blood seeping from her nostrils.
