The Bihar Education Department is going to begin re-verifying almost one million recently hired teachers

Re-verification of almost one lakh teachers hired last month has been mandated by the Bihar Education Department in response to reports that those applying were frauds. Extra In a letter dated December 28 to all District Magistrates (DMs), the Chief Secretary of the Education Department, K K Pathak, demanded a re-verification drive starting on January 15. He attributed the anomalies to the Bihar Public Service Commission’s (BPSC) “failure” to share thumb impressions of candidates who had taken the entrance exam with the department during the time of counseling in November.

“The department recently contacted 4,000 carefully chosen instructors for random re-verification in response to impersonation allegations. The purpose of the call was to confirm if the students who took the entrance test were the same ones who enlisted in the military. Three imposters were discovered by the department throughout the procedure. In addition, three instructors who had joined left. The agency has filed lawsuits against imposters, the letter said.

On November 2 of this year, the Bihar government sent employment letters to 1,20,336 recently hired teachers who had passed the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-1) administered by the BPSC at all district headquarters around the state. The Commission recently released the TRE-2 results in order to fill 86,557 positions in the state for instructors of various topics. The PTI made many efforts to reach Bihar Education Minister Chandra Shekhar, but he was unable to provide remarks on the matter.

“The BPSC has now consented to provide us thumb imprints from written exams that were taken of all chosen applicants for TRE-1 and TRE-2. According to the ACS Education letter that PTI has, “These impressions will be matched with those who have joined as teachers during the re-verification drive and counseling of selected candidates of TRE-2.” 49 applicants were permanently forbidden by the BPSC on Friday from taking any of the commission’s examinations for allegedly participating in impersonation during the competitive test for school teachers. The Commission’s website currently provides a list of disqualified applicants.

In order to re-verify, all DMs are urged to contact recently hired teachers (of TRE-1) in batches. Their thumb impressions will be compared to those gathered by the Commission during the entrance test, according to the letter. Along with these educators will be the headmasters of the schools in which they are now employed. Should any irregularities be identified while comparing thumb impressions, anybody found to be engaged in unlawful activities should face prompt legal action. “During the re-verification drive, the Aadhaar card histories of all selected candidates will also be scrutinized.” The letter states, “It is commonly observed that imposters frequently make changes in the Aadhaar card to avoid detection.”
