Five major defendants in the TRE 3.0 paper leak case appeared in court

Patna: On Monday, the Patna civil court heard the presentation of five prominent conspirators, one of whom was a woman, in connection with the Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE) 3.0 paper leak case. The accused were taken to Patna on transit remand on Sunday after being apprehended by the Bihar Police’s Economic Offenses Unit on April 20 from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, after the collection of technical evidence against them by the investigating team.

The people who were taken into custody include Dr. Shiv Kumar, also known as Bittu, who graduated from PMCH in 2021 with an MBBS; Balli, also known as Sandeep Kumar; Pradeep Kumar; and Tej Prakash, who is from the Nalanda area. Soumya Kumari, a resident of Patna’s Kankerbagh region, has been identified as the woman detained in this case.

Sanjeev Mukhiya, Bittu’s father, has previously been taken into custody as one of the conspirators in the TRE document leak case. According to the authorities, he and his father were responsible for the 2017 Patrakar Nagar in Patna NEET question paper leak. Dr. Shubham Mandal, the brains behind this year’s UP constable test paper leak case, has also been arrested along with them.

EOU officials state that during the arrested accused’s interrogation and the technical and scientific examination of the evidence, it was discovered that the Bittu gang from Balwa Shahpur, which is under the jurisdiction of Nagarnausa police station in the Nalanda district, had leaked this paper and was significantly involved in the incident.

Eight members of a special squad were tasked with gathering information from other states in order to apprehend Bittu. Raids were also taking place in a number of areas in Bihar. We learned from this sequence that Bittu and a few key gang members were holed up in Madhya Pradesh. From there, the crew detained five people consecutively, according to the authorities.

The gang has consistently participated in fraud cases and question paper leaks related to competitive exams at several government agencies. This is an interstate gang having ties to many neighboring states, including West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Aspirants and members of gangs have been among the 321 people detained in connection with the TRE-3 document leak investigation so far. On March 15, the TRE-3 tests were administered at 415 locations around the state, and 3.75 lakh candidates registered for the test.

Gang members from Bhopal, including Subhash Prakash, are apprehended by the Uttar Pradesh STF for leaking the question paper for the UPPSC’s Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination 2023, which caused the exam to be canceled.

Due to their leak of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer Examination 2023 paper, four gang members were detained by the UP STF in Lucknow. Subhash Prakash, a Bhopal-based accomplice, is among the twelve arrests made so far. Suspects are facing specific charges and an ongoing investigation.
