RJD Leader Anirudha Chaudhary was assassinated in Begusarai, Bihar.

In Masudanpur Diyara in the Begusarai district of Bihar, an RJD leader was shot and killed in the night between Wednesday and Thursday by unidentified gunmen. When the event occurred at approximately one in the morning, the leader, Anirudha Chaudhary, was resting outside of his home when the mysterious attackers opened fire.

“Anirudha is not hostile toward anybody. Unknown shooters shot him to death when he was sleeping outside his house. According to the RJD leader’s cousin Vivekanand Chaudhary, “We have informed Balia’s neighborhood police station.”

In the region, Chaudhary was a prominent RJD block level leader. A Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) leader was shot and killed earlier on Wednesday in the Gaya district by four thugs on a bike.

To protest a comment made by their party’s MP Manoj Jha last week, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members burned effigies of RJD president Lalu Prasad and his son, deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, on Wednesday.

The Rajputs, who are also known as “Thakur” in certain areas of the nation, were allegedly denigrated in Jha’s address to the Rajya Sabha, according to BJP activists.

Academician Jha read a poem called “Thakur Ka Kuan” by Dalit author Om Prakash Valmiki. In a speech to the Rajya Sabha that has since gone viral on social media, the Rajya Sabha MP pleaded passionately for the protection of the rights of women from underprivileged backgrounds, which he claimed the Women’s Reservation Bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam), which allotted women 33% of seats in Parliament and state legislatures, did not do.
