Tejashwi Applauds Rahul Gandhi’s SC Decision

Tejashwi Yadav, a deputy from Bihar, expressed his joy at the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Congressman Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in a defamation case stemming from his comment on the surname Modi on Friday, clearing the way for the revival of his Lok Sabha membership.

Yadav, whose RJD has backed the Congress, tweeted his joy, concluding it with the Sanskrit phrase “Satyamev Jayate (Truth shall triumph)” and the hashtag “INDIA,” which stands for the newly established alliance of opposition parties against the BJP.

“The Supreme Court’s honorable ruling on Rahul Gandhi is praiseworthy. The BJP’s network, which thrives on defamation, would have continued its plot to remove several more opposition politicians from the assembly if not for this shock, Yadav tweeted. Even though he was a kid at the time, the RJD leader is being charged by the CBI in a land for jobs scheme that pertained to the time when his father Lalu Prasad served as the Railway Minister.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of the JD(U) in Bihar, who started the opposition unity effort after leaving the BJP-led NDA last year, also applauded the Supreme Court’s decision. Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lalan, national president of the JD(U), tweeted: “Congratulations to Rahul Gandhi ji. The illustrious Supreme Court decision demonstrated that justice always wins in the end. Congratulations to the Supreme Court for upholding the law.

The top court cited a Gujarat High Court decision rejecting his request for a stay of execution in a defamation lawsuit involving his statement about the “Modi surname.” Gandhi’s comment that “How come all thieves have Modi as the common surname?” was made at an election rally in Kolar, Karnataka, on April 13, 2019, led to the former Gujarat minister Purnesh Modi filing a criminal defamation complaint against Gandhi in 2019.

Along with Purnesh Modi, several more BJP officials from all throughout the nation filed defamation lawsuits. Sushil Kumar Modi, a former deputy chief minister of Bihar, has reported one such occurrence here.
