In Chennai, WeWork India establishes a new office location
The co-working space provider WeWork India has leased more than 130,000 square feet of space at Olympia Cyberspace to launch a new location in Chennai. The new office space is expected to open in early June 2024 and is located in Guindy, one of the city’s main office centers.
According to a press release from the firm, the office space in Chennai would span two floors and accommodate over 2000 workstations. The building will provide easy access to the airport, metro, and hotels.
As a result of the emergence of many rapidly expanding micromarkets like Old Mahabalipuram Road and Porur, real estate and flexible workspace demand is soaring in Chennai, the report said.
“We are witnessing a continued surge in demand for flexible workspaces across India,” WeWork India CEO Karan Virwani said. “We are also seeing increased interest from IPCs and members for the Chennai market.” Flexible and customizable workplaces that support full-time or hybrid work styles are becoming more and more necessary as businesses quickly resume operations.
