In February, wholesale inflation decreases to 0.2%

Inflation based on the wholesale pricing index (WPI) decreased to 0.2% in January from 0.27 percent the month before.

From April through October, the WPI inflation rate remained negative; however, in November, it began to rise, reaching 0.26 percent.

The commerce and industry ministry stated in a statement on Wednesday that the annual rate of inflation for the month of February, 2024 (over February, 2023), based on the whole India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) data, is 0.20 percent (provisional).

According to reports, food inflation increased slightly from 6.85% in January to 6.95% in February.

Vegetable inflation increased to 19.78 percent in January from 19.71 percent.

In February, the WPI inflation for pulses was 18.48%, up from 16.6% in January.
