In five years, India will become a worldwide semiconductor center

Delhi, New: India will rank among the world’s largest semiconductor centers in the next five years, according to Union Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who has inaugurated four semiconductor production facilities in the nation.December will see the arrival of the first “Made in India” chip from the Rs 22,500 crore Micron semiconductor facility in Gujarat, which began operations late last year.

The Union Minister said in an interview with a news agency that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay the groundwork for the industry’s further expansion in the next few years, resulting in the creation of thousands of new jobs.

“Introducing cutting-edge technology to India, whether they are semiconductors, electric vehicles (EVs), or artificial intelligence (AI), is governed by a defined strategy. These regulations are designed to increase job opportunities for the nation’s youth and support homegrown entrepreneurs, according to Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Since 1960, the production of semiconductors has just been a pipe dream; PM Modi finally brought that pipe dream to reality.

Today, four (chip) units were put into service. Technology is evolving. The building is progressing quickly. The Union Minister said, “Everything is ready for the first chip from Micron’s Sanand plant to be released in December.”

Furthermore, Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the chips produced at the largest EVs in the world would be used in the Assamese facility.

India has immense potential due to our superiority in semiconductor design. With this in mind, PM Modi promised to bring semiconductor production to India, and the IT Minister went on, “India will become one of the world’s largest semiconductor hubs in the next five years.”
