Included with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is Gorilla Armor Glass. This New Corning Glass: What Is It?

With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series this week, all eyes are on the new Galaxy S24 Ultra, the company’s flagship model. Along with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, the business is switching back to a flat display and titanium is making its frame debut on the new handset.

Along with these upgrades, you also receive a brand-new Corning Gorilla Armor glass, which aims to improve the screen’s usability and aesthetic appeal.

It seems that Samsung and Corning have developed a new material that improves readability in direct sunlight in addition to offering durability. According to what Samsung said in this article, “Gorilla Armor offers an unparalleled combination of durability and visual clarity, delivering a richer display in sunlight and greater protection against damage caused by daily wear.”

What makes this glass unique, and how does it provide increased durability specifically? The report also states that Samsung claims that the Armor glass minimizes reflection by up to 75% when compared to a regular glass surface, improving display readability and reducing screen reflections in almost every setting. To find out whether these grandiose promises are justified and if the screen can really resist regular use with minimal damage, we’ll have to test the phone.

On the Galaxy S24, the business opted for a flat display, which helps with screen material changes and enables users to get more out of the screen wherever they are. Later this year, it will be interesting to see whether additional companies start carrying the Armor glass.
