India’s main economy is developing at the highest rate; it may now positively influence other economies’ development. Rajinath

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday that India has shown there is no unavoidable trade-off between distributive justice and prosperity, and the administration is working tirelessly to strengthen the nation’s standing as an economic engine.

During the FICCI annual general meeting, Singh said that India, as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, is now in a position to have a “positive impact” on the progress of other nations.

“India demonstrated that distributive fairness and development are not mutually exclusive. That implies raising the growth rate and giving all residents equal chances, both of which may be accomplished at the same time,” he said.

“Every effort is being made by the administration to bolster India’s standing as an economic engine. It’s a fact that the government cannot do this task on its own, however. He addressed the business leaders, “We also need the support of this nation’s wealth creators and thought leaders for that.”

According to Singh, business executives have a “special responsibility” to assist the government in writing the next chapter of the “Indian growth story”.

“If India is the growth engine of the global economy then all of you wealth creators and thought leaders are the motor of that growth engine,” he said.

“Therefore, there is a special responsibility on all of you to help the government write the next chapter of the Indian growth story by integrating the needs of everyone from the engine to the last coach,” Singh said.

He also mentioned the government’s emphasis on building infrastructure, particularly to increase connectivity.

“The way we have done infrastructure development in far-flung areas in India, the way we have laid a network of connectivity under the PM Gati Shakti Yojana — be it the remote North-East or small cities or towns, we have connected everyone,” he said.

“Moving on from the growth pole, I would like to call this the growth web,” he said.

The government is investing at the base of the pyramid, according to the minister of defense.

“Be it the farmers of the country, tribals or street vendors, or ‘Vishwakarma brothers’ — by implementing schemes for these people, we have ensured that we also pay attention to the bottom of the pyramid,” he said.

The minister of defense also emphasized the appointment of women to a variety of roles within the three services.

“If I discuss the defense industry, you’ll see that we began accepting ladies into Sainik School. The National Defense Academy also provides training for female officers in the Army, Air Force, and Navy,” he said.

“The Air Force is hiring female pilots to fly combat aircraft. Women now have important positions in the Army as well. Through the Agniveer program, a significant number of our females are enlisting in the military,” he said.

Singh also discussed the government’s emphasis on developing human resources.

“A nation’s human resource base is its most valuable asset. In terms of human resource upgrading, the government’s efforts to advance health and education over the last ten or so years are really remarkable,” he said.

“The longevity of our citizens has increased; Infant and maternal mortality rates have decreased; The per capita income of our citizens has increased, their lives and their living standards have improved,” he said.
