News On The Stock Market: IT Shares Gain, Sensex Jumps 150 Points, Nifty At 21800
Market Today: Due to the majority of Asian markets being closed for the Lunar New Year, activity was quiet on Monday, but the stock indexes saw a little increase in opening prices. The NSE Nifty50 gained 37 points to 21,820, while the BSE Sensex increased 150 points to 71,740.
Lead gainers on the Sensex were Wipro, HCLTech, Infosys, Tech M, and TCS; additional winners on the Nifty were Divi’s Labs and Dr. Reddy’s.
Conversely, the leading frontline losers were Power Grid, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Hero Moto, ONGC, and Coal India.
Up to 0.27 percent, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes saw an increase.

Due to the Lunar New Year holidays, markets in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Taiwan are closed. Australia’s ASX 200 was down 0.2% on the day.
US markets had a mixed closing on Friday. For the first time, the S&P 500 closed above the crucial 5,000 barrier, up 0.57%. The Dow Jones dropped 0.14 percent, while the Nasdaq increased 1.25 percent.
