The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) title sponsorship rights have been maintained by The Tata Group for the next five seasons, ahead of the much awaited IPL 2024.

Several sources state that Tata Sons matched the Aditya Birla Group’s proposal on Friday for a whooping Rs 500 crore or Rs 2500 crore (for all five years) to serve as the league’s title sponsor from 2024 to 2028.

Prior to this, the Chinese smartphone firm Vivo was replaced by the Tata Group as the IPL title sponsor for a two-year period between 2022 and 2023.

Since 2022, the firm has sponsored the Indian Premier League (IPL), having spent Rs 670 crore for the previous two seasons.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) set the basic price for the five-year rights at Rs 1750 crore, or Rs 350 crore each year for 74 matches, according to the tender that was released on December 12. The Economic Times reported that this amount was determined by the BCCI.

The 17th IPL season is scheduled to start in March 2024.
