The medical device business requires its own set of regulations, according to AiMeD

According to an organization spokesperson, the Indian Medical Device Industry (AiMeD) applauds the government of India’s intention to examine the laws governing medication pricing, which will also apply to medical devices.

“We are pleased that the Indian government intends to reexamine the laws governing medication costs, which will now also apply to medical equipment. We’re happy to be a part of the conversation as the primary organization representing the Indian medical device sector, Rajiv Nath, the organizer of AiMeD’s forum, told IANS.

According to him, the government has made the decision to include more people on the special invitee list for the committee established to reform the pricing framework for pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Twelve additional organizations that represent the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors have been invited as special invitees to the Committee in accordance with the directive issued by the Department of Pharmaceuticals.

We think there should be distinct regulations for medical gadgets. Fair marketing that prioritizes value and quality above items with large profit margins is what we want to promote. We have been requesting regulations to prevent firms from inflating the price of medical devices on their labels for some time now. Sincere manufacturers and marketing firms suffer from this practice. Rather than exorbitant costs, we want fair competition based on the true worth of the goods, Nath said.
