Updates on the stock market: ZEEL falls 9%, Sensex rises 450 points, and Nifty reaches 21,650

Sensex Today: On Tuesday, the benchmark stock indexes opened enthusiastically, following the lead indicators from the international markets.

above 71,771, the S&P BSE Sensex started more than 400 points higher and was trading above 71,800 levels. At 21,650, the NSE Nifty 50 was up roughly 150 points.

The Sensex 30’s leading gainers were IT equities. Each of Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys saw an increase of around 1% to 2%. The other big players were Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel, SBI, and Tata Motors.

Following the announcement of a share purchase of Rs 10,000 per share, Bajaj Auto surged by more than 5%.

The BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes both saw gains of around 1% in the overall market.

Worldwide Cues

In the US, the Dow increased by 0.58 percent overnight. The Nasdaq Composite gained 2.2% and the S&P 500 gained 1.41 percent.

Asian equities started to rise as well. The Nikkei in Japan increased 1.3%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index increased by 1%. The Hong Kong Hang Seng gained 0.56%, while the Kospi in South Korea had a 0.29 percent increase.
