Will keep talking with the government on demerger: Zinc Hindustan

Hindustan Zinc, a firm in the Vedanta group, will keep talking to the Center about its plan to divide the business into many companies, according to CEO Arun Misra.

The announcement coincides with the ministry of mines rejecting the demerger proposal of Hindustan Zinc Ltd. According to Misra, the topic was also discussed at Friday’s board meeting.

With a 29.54 percent ownership stake in Hindustan Zinc, the government is the company’s biggest minority stakeholder.
