After receiving the Padma Bhushan, Mithun Chakraborty welcomes Prime Minister Narendra Modi; his son Mahaakshay calls his father a “hero.”

Now the third-highest civilian prize in India goes to veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who has won three National Awards. On April 22, President Draupadi Murmu gave Mithun Chakraborty the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award in the arts. Mahaakshay Chakraborty, the son of Mithun Chakraborty, sent a heartfelt letter expressing his respect for his father for accomplishing this incredible feat.

Mahaakshay Chakraborty posted a series of images of his father meeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media. A few photos also revealed the elderly celebrity at Rashtrapati Bhavan receiving the Padma Bhushan Award from President Draupadi Murmu.

In the post, Mahaakshay also referred to his father as his “hero.” In a touching letter to his father, he said, “What a pleasure and honor it is to be your son! Dad, you are my idol! The best guy I’ve ever met, and you deserve this honor so much! Well done on receiving the Padma Bhushan Award.

In an interview with ANI, Mithun Chakraborty expressed his happiness at being chosen for the prestigious award.

He said, “I’m overjoyed.” In my whole life, I have never asked anybody for anything. For the honor and respect, I am ecstatic. It’s the most joyous occasion. I was mute for a moment when I received the call informing me that you were to get Padma Bhushan since I had not anticipated it. I needed some time to process everything,” he said.

Renowned singer Usha Uthup, who also won the same prize, was with the actor. “I’m thrilled beyond measure. She said to ANI, “I am bursting with happiness; you can all see the tears in my eyes.”

In several languages, Mithun Chakraborty has contributed to movies like “The Tashkent Files,” “Entertainment,” “OMG – Oh My God!”, and “Housefull 2.” Throughout his lengthy career, Mithun also made a name for himself by appearing in hit dance songs such as “Super Dancer” (Dance Dance), “Jimmy Jimmy” (Disco Dancer), and “I Am a Disco Dancer” (Disco Dancer).
