Brian Tyree Henry has joined Pharrell Williams and Michel Gondry’s forthcoming musical from Universal Pictures

The ensemble of “Godzilla x Kong” actor Brian Tyree Henry has been added to the cast of American artist Pharrell Williams’ next musical film, directed by Michel Gondry. The unnamed film, which is based on William’s childhood years in Virginia Beach and is set in 1977, stars Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Halle Bailey, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. Da’Vine Joy Randolph just won an Oscar for best supporting actress.

Gondry will helm the film, which is coming from Hollywood company Universal Pictures, from a screenplay written by Steven Levenson and Martin Hynes.Williams is going to be the producer.

In addition to his roles in the films Widows, If Beale Street Could Talk, Godzilla vs. Kong, Eternals, Bullet Train, and most recently Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Henry is well-known for his work on the FX series Atlanta.

The sports biography “The Fire Inside,” the Apple TV+ series “Sinking Spring,” and the animated picture “Transformers One” from Paramount, which also features voice acting by Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm, are among his future projects.
