Director Sudipto Sen responds to CM’s objections to “The Kerala Story” being shown in his state with THIS remark

“Since our childhood, our parents and teachers taught us that… only wrong people are scared of truth,” director Sudipto Sen remarked in response to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s objections to Doordarshan’s decision to show the Kerala Story. They are making every effort to keep the truth from getting out.”
He even went so far as to claim that the truth has been concealed by the establishment.

“They have hidden the scary truth,” he continues. Our movie revealed the evil international terror network that operates in India. Thus, some of them are upset with us and are attempting to discredit us without having seen the movie.”
Sen added that the film’s only purpose was to reveal ISIS and other extremist organisations attempting to do damage to our nation. “We don’t oppose any religion in particular. Since terrorism has no religion in ‘their’ language,” Sen.

Nonetheless, after its OTT debut, the film received favourable reviews.
Even though “The Kerala Story” was produced on a very small budget of Rs 15-20 crore, it created ripples for its story. Worldwide receipts for the movie exceeded Rs 300 crore all across the nation. Adah Sharma’s outstanding performance in pivotal parts, bolstered by Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, Siddhi Idnani, and Devadarshini, added to the film’s critical praise.
The plot centres on four young college ladies who join ISIS after becoming victims of indoctrination and pressure. The film’s depiction of over 32,000 Keralan women being transported to Syria and Iraq after being converted to Islam caused controversy and debate in the political sphere.
