Director Tushar Hiranandani: “Srikanth” was my dream movie to create. – Exclusive

Certain stories are extraordinary in the realm of Indian film, where narrative is king. One such tale that embodies the spirit of the human spirit, resiliency, and tenacity is that of the forthcoming movie “Srikanth.” The film’s director, Tushar Hiranandani, discussed the process of bringing this gripping tale to life in a recent interview with ETimes.

“My goal was to direct ‘Srikanth’ as my feature debut. However, he was so preoccupied with his job that he didn’t have time to meet with me, so I couldn’t get in touch with him,” Tushar said, recalling the early difficulties he had in obtaining the story’s rights.

He didn’t let failure stop him from pursuing his artistic vision, and with the highly praised film “Saand Ki Aankh,” he finally found success. At that moment, destiny took over and he had the chance to go back and finish his passion project.
“After that, I got in touch with his partner Ravi, who helped to make this movie a reality. I got the rights with his aid. Sharad Kelkar plays his part in the movie,” he said.

Examining the nuances of the rights acquisition procedure in further detail, the filmmaker illuminated the fortunate series of circumstances that eventually made the film’s production possible. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has been handed his rights by Srikanth. The director said, “Ravi went to him and got the rights to me.”

“I had good fortune. Rakeysh Ji graciously offered us the rights since he wasn’t working on the movie at the time. Finally, we produced the movie,” he said.

One of the most awaited movies of 2024, “Srikanth,” starring Rajkummar Rao, will open in theaters on May 10.
