Explaining ‘Trance’s’ box office struggles, Fahadh Faasil pledges to steer clear of religious themes in his next films

Speaking candidly, Fahadh Faasil discussed the difficulties his movie “Trance” encountered as well as his reluctance to tackle religious topics in other works.
Speaking with Galatta Plus, Fahadh Faasil openly shared his misgivings about include religious themes in his movies, pointing out Keralan viewers’ unwillingness to face hard truths.

Fahadh Faasil said that the film “Trance,” which explored the dark realm of religious exploitation, was not an economic success.He said that while the movie raised important issues, its entertainment value was unbalanced and that as a result, its box office appeal suffered. He underlined that the film’s reception may have been significantly altered by a more polished second half.

Even after ‘Trance’ received positive reviews, Fahadh Faasil said he would not want to work on religious subjects again in the future. He emphasized the value of entertaining stories in addition to thought-provoking ones, making a suggestion on a change of direction for his next endeavors.

Anwar Rasheed’s psychological thriller “Trance” attempted to expose the abusive practices in Kerala’s religious sector. Actors Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim, and Gautham Vasudev Menon were among those in the film.

In the meanwhile, Fahadh Faasil’s most recent film, “Aavesham,” is doing well in theaters.
