Ileana D’Cruz speaks about going back to work after having a kid and avoiding movies for a while: “I believe my emotional state was off.”

Ileana D’Cruz, who is now promoting her movie “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” spoke about her experience being pregnant and having to spend a lot of time away from the movies. She has also spoken candidly about the difficult experiences she encountered during this time.

Ileana D’Cruz gave an explanation of her break from the movie industry in an interview with India Today, saying it wasn’t a conscious decision.She spoke about picking her initiatives carefully, but the lockdown interfered with her plans. Her films, including “Tera Kya Hoga Lovely” and “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” were delayed even though they were shot in 2021 because of the pandemic’s effect on release dates.

Following her departure from the big screen, Ileana took a chance on OTT with roles in movies like Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘The Big Bull,’ released in 2021. Looking more closely at her OTT work, she said that a web series was being filmed in 2022. But pregnancy caused a temporary interruption to her quest.

Ileana said that she spent the most of 2023 pregnant before giving birth to her child. She made it clear that she made the purposeful decision to prefer spending time with her child above working at any point in the past. She conveyed her appreciation for the attention her latest work has gotten.

In the same interview, Ileana spoke about how she thought about the physical make-over that was needed for her character, Nora, in “Do Aur Do Pyaar.” She was grateful that the director and the role didn’t force her to be at her most attractive. She told the director up front that she wasn’t in top physical shape and that she wouldn’t be adhering to rigid body standards, even though she accepted the position right away. Ileana blamed her own circumstances for her weariness in 2021.

Ileana said that she went through mental turmoil at that time, which caused her to gain weight. She said that being in a difficult emotional place was the reason for this physical transformation.

The actress narrated how the director made sure she was comfortable, which is why she accepted the project. She was clear that she wouldn’t embark on drastic diets or try to lose a lot of weight. Ileana claims that the director comforted her, highlighting how great her beauty was already.
