Is Rakhi Sawant in Peril? Court Dismisses Pre-Arrest Bail in Adil Khan’s “Leaked Videos” Case

Bollywood star Rakhi Sawant was granted anticipatory bail by a Mumbai court in a case brought by her estranged husband for allegedly sharing their personal footage. On January 8, Sawant’s bail request was denied by Shrikant Y. Bhosale, the Additional Sessions Judge (Dindoshi court). On Friday, the whole order was made accessible.

Based on a complaint filed by her estranged spouse Adil Khan Durrani, the suburban Amboli police station opened a case against Rakhi Sawant under the pertinent provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act. Sawant was accused by Durrani of discrediting him by releasing their personal footage on many websites.

Sawant said in her pre-arrest bail request, via attorney Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, that the only reason the FIR was filed against her was to intimidate, coerce, and accuse her of being involved in a fabricated and fraudulent case. Her appeal said that the FIR is without merit and amounts to nothing more than a clear exploitation of the legal system.

The actor is accused of having “transmitted or published” information that is “not only obscene but sexually explicit,” according to the court. The court said, “Granting anticipatory bail is not a fit case given the facts, allegations, and circumstances of the incident.”

For those who don’t know, Adil Khan Durrani and Rakhi Sawant have been at odds for a very long time. The Bigg Boss star accused Durrani of physical abuse, making threats to take her own life, and having many relationships while they were still married in February 2023. Adil was then arrested and was in police detention for a long period. Then the two walked away.

Adil made alarming accusations and said that Rakhi was to blame if anything bad happened to him when he was released from prison in August.
