Maharashtra Cyber Police question rapper Badshah for endorsing the Fairplay software

According to official sources here on Monday, singer-rapper Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, well known as Badshah, was interrogated by the Maharashtra Cyber Police for endorsing the Fairplay app in relation to the investigation into a Viacom18 complaint alleging digital piracy.

The Viacom18 allegation from April stemmed from Badshah, 37, allegedly being interrogated for more than two hours for supporting the Fairplay app, which had shown the IPL 2023 matches.

Viacom18, the complaint, has claimed that it possesses the broadcast rights to the IPL 2023 cricket season (which runs from March 2023 to May 2023). However, Badshah’s Fairplay app concurrently displayed the event.

After receiving a complaint, the Maharashtra Cyber Police Cell opened a probe into the videos, which featured Badshah endorsing the Fairplay app. He had uploaded some of the films on social media, and more of them had been seen on other platforms.

Along with Badshah, a number of other celebrities have also endorsed the app, including Mary Kom, Mithali Raj, Ranbir Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Saina Nehwal, and others. However, authorities have not disclosed whether or not they would be questioned about the subject.
