Mrunal Thakur talks about experiencing body shaming on the internet: “There were moments when I…”

Mrunal Thakur just had an unimpressive appearance in the film The Family Star. In a recent interview, the actress discussed her experience with fat shaming and the vast differences between living offline and online.

The actress discussed how being the target of trolling on social media for her appearance affected her. There were times, the actress said, when she didn’t want to wake you. Despite my reluctance, I got out of bed for my own sake and not the sake of others. One day, two days, three days, weeks, months—I may be depressed, and no one would notice except your family. Therefore, I think it’s crucial to constantly remind ourselves that even on our terrible days, wonderful days will still come. That served as evidence that there are days when feeling unwell is normal.”

“I’m going to change that beauty standard by flaunting my curves,” the actress said. I used to be terrified to wear anything that hugged my body. However, now I’m thinking, “Body-hugging? Go ahead and do it. What about crop tops? Go ahead and do it. Why do we need the Kardashians to define what constitutes beauty? Every Indian lady you see strolling down the street is stunning and curvy.”

The actress is now commanding the big screens with her flicks like Sita Ramam, Hey Nanna, Jersey, and more after being well-known for her roles in TV programs. The last time the actress was seen was in the Vijay Deverakonda film The Family Star. But the movie got bad reviews when it first came out and didn’t do well at the box office. Her forthcoming thriller Pooja Meri Jaan, directed by Navjot Gulati and starring Vipasha Arvind, will be her next feature. Vijay Raaz and Humar Qureshi both play significant parts in the movie.
