Nirahua said, “Cannot say anything about it,” about Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh’s Asansol Lok Sabha candidacy

In response to the question of whether Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh would run for the Lok Sabha from Asansol, Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua) said on Friday that he was unable to comment and that the party will make the final choice.

Just one day after the political party announced his candidacy for the Asansol seat in West Bengal, Pawan Singh had said that he would not be running for the Lok Sabha, but he later changed his mind on Wednesday and declared that he will run.

When asked whether Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh will run for the Lok Sabha from Asansol, West Bengal, Dinesh said, “The party decides it (Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh to contest the elections from Asansol), I cannot say anything about it.”
Nirahua went on to say that they were in Asansol for a program.

On March 13, Pawan asked for people’s support and collaboration in a post on X.
“In order to keep the pledge I made to my mother, people, and society, I will run for office. “Jai Mata Di, your blessings and cooperation are expected,” he remarked on X.
The Bhojpuri musician hasn’t yet disclosed the party or constituency he would be running for office, however. Leader of the TMC Shatrughan Sinha is running from Asansol, a seat he previously won in a vote in 2022.

Pawan Singh had already announced his withdrawal from the Lok Sabha election on March 3.

The musician revealed that he was withdrawing from the competition “due to some reason” by posting on his official X account.

“I would want to convey my sincere appreciation to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s senior leadership. I was chosen as the party’s candidate from Asansol in West Bengal because of their faith in me, but I will not be able to run for office there for an unspecified reason,” Singh said on Sunday from his X account.
