In a Galatta Plus interview, Riddhima and her husband Bharat Sahni provided details of the family’s battle to deal with Rishi Kapoor’s passing in the face of public scrutiny, as well as the actor’s enduring love for movies.

Thinking back on the unwavering spirit of Rishi Kapoor, Bharat Sahni said that the seasoned actor continued to be committed to his work right up till the end. Rishi Kapoor was preoccupied with work despite his health issues, wondering whether he would be able to return to the screen and finish his existing projects.Recalling Rishi Kapoor’s involvement during the filming of his most recent movie, “Sharmaji Namkeen,” in Delhi, Riddhima Sahni divulged personal information about his dedication to his profession. In the middle of Delhi’s busy streets, Rishi Kapoor showed off his zest for life and his persistent passion for street cuisine during shooting, even though he was under medical care.

Notwithstanding his commitment to his profession, Riddhima conveyed a deep sense of sorrow for not being able to accompany her father in his last hours. She described the heartbreaking experience of requesting special permission to see her father, arriving only after his final rites had been completed, due to pandemic-related restrictions. She learned about Rishi Kapoor’s demise via Facetime, which made her even more upset about not being there in person.

In an especially touching admission, Riddhima related the painful recollection of having missed her father’s last phone call. She missed a call from Rishi Kapoor, who tried to get in touch with her only two days before he passed away. She regrets not picking up. She regretted, “That was his last missed call to me.” As her father fought his sickness in the hospital, Riddhima made an attempt to reach out to him afterwards, but all she got was silence.
