Season 9 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” Revealed Queens Will Participate in Their First Charity Competition

The Season 9 cast of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” which will include eight former contestants from Seasons 1 through 14, has been formally revealed by Paramount+ and World of Wonder. With the exception of the all-winners seventh season, this is the only “All Stars” season to only have eight queens.

They are vying for a $200,000 grand prize, but this is the first time in the “Drag Race” history that the winner’s charity would get the funds. According to an official statement, the award is provided by The Palette Fund, a private charity “committed to breaking down barriers and fostering social change in areas that are under-resourced and experiencing severe difficulties.”

On May 17, “All Stars” will begin its ninth season onParamount+. RuPaul will host the two-episode premiere, which is produced by World of Wonder. Every Friday, fresh episodes of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Untucked” will also debut.

The queens who are returning for Season 9 of “All Stars” are:

Season 14’s Angeria Paris VanMichaels: This Atlanta-born queen advanced to the finals, where she tied for third after winning two major tasks, one of which was the one when she came up with her catchphrase, “you ug-aly bitch.” As per the release, she is performing for the National Black Justice Collective, which is seen as the premier national civil rights group in America. Its mission is to empower Black individuals who identify as LGBT+/SGL (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer+, and same gender loving), especially those coping with HIV/AIDS.

Gottmik (Season 13): The first transgender competitor on “Drag Race” gained a lot of popularity by playing Paris Hilton in the Snatch Game task. This victory gave Gottmik one of the two main challenges, and she finished third overall. “A grassroots hotline, advocacy and micro-grants non-profit offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis,” is Trans Lifeline, the organization for which she is performing.

Jorgeous (Season 14): The unchallenged lip-sync queen of Season 14 made an appearance on the venerable Las Vegas program “RuPaul’s Drag Race Live,” winning one major competition and tying for sixth place overall. “The nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental health conditions” is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, for which she is performing.

Nina West (Season 11): The queen from Columbus, Ohio, placed sixth overall, won two major tasks, and was crowned Miss Congeniality by her fellow competitors. Following the performance, she portrayed Edna Turnblad in the national tour of “Hairspray” and Divine, a famous drag performer, in the 2022 production of “Weird; The Al Yankovic Story.” “The leading organization for LGBTQ+ youth crisis intervention and suicide prevention,” The Trevor Project, is the organization for which she is performing.

Plastique Tiara (Season 11): Despite having the worst performance of any of the “All Stars” Season 9 queens in her first season (winning one main challenge and placing eighth), Plastique has subsequently accumulated the largest social media following of any cast member, with 11.6 million TikTok followers, according to a release. She has also been in RuPaul’s Drag Race Live as a star. The Asian American Foundation, which was established “to address the long-standing underinvestment in Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities and in response to the rise in anti-Asian hate,” is the organization for which she is performing.

Roxxxy Andrews (from “All Stars” Season 2, Season 5): As the first queen to unveil the double-wig reveal in a lip sync, Roxxxy is one of the most recognizable “Drag Race” veterans. She qualified for two finales: She placed fourth in Season 2 of “All Stars” and finished runner-up in Season 5 after winning two of the key challenges. She is performing for Miracle of Love, an organization that aims to serve the needs of the multicultural communities in Central Florida by offering “accessible HIV/AIDS prevention programming and supportive assistance.”

Shannel (First Season, “All Stars”): Shannel was the first queen to enter the “Drag Race” werk room. She finished fourth in her season and tied for third in the first season of “All Stars.” “A global nonprofit committed to advancing research and helping people overcome anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and related conditions” is the organization for which she is performing. It is the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.

Vanessa Vanjie (Season 10, Season 11): After being the first queen ousted from Season 10, Vanjie became viral right away with her scream of “Miss Vanjie.” As a result, she was welcomed back for the following season, when she placed fifth. The animal rights organization that “has been on the frontlines to save, transform and protect the lives of millions of dogs, cats, equines and farm animals in the fight against animal cruelty and homelessness” is the one she is representing with her game, the ASPCA.
